Camping!

Well, after last years fiasco we thought we'd give the camping another go. Itwas great.
Katy (note the new spelling! Mummy's spelling is no longer good enough :o)) Had two days of school as they had thoughtfully given the kids an inset day following the local election voting day (I still don't know who got in!! - BAD person). Anyway, we decided to go to a forestry commision campsite in the new forest near Brocken hurst. It was set in woodland near some open fields with ponys roaming wild. The site it's self was very basic but very clean and we loved it.

We only stayed 3 nights but had great weather and spent most of our time on little outings in search of ponies! Another longer walk tookus along a cycle path towards Lyndhurst though Charlie slept in Ben's buggy most of the way!! Next time we'll take the buggy board!!

Happy Father's Day to all you Dads reading this!

Have a GREAT Day xxx

Easter Monday

Wow! Lovely sunny day and we thought the summer had ended already and we'd been plunged into the depths of winter yet again.
Great day for a trip to Staunton Country park, one of our local-ish attractions. Packed a picnic and drinks (forgot the rug but never mind).

We had a great time feeding the animals - Charlie even got to feed a baby lamb with a bottle.
I don't have any pictures but we went to visit the glass house as the kids love to watch the fish in the giant lilly pond snd the temperatute was 100^F - phew!

Easter Break

Well,
Been a long time...
Can't believe it's Easter already - APRIL! What happened to the year????

So, two weeks off school/ pre-school for the larger ones and a few more playmates for Ben. Week one flew - or should I say bounced past as most of the time was spent outside on the trampoline. Now Katie is off with her Dad and Matty is back with his mum and multiple siblings.
We were supposed to be away over Easter and we were quite excited but our plans were scuppered at the last minute so we had to suffice with a weekend at the seaside which turned out to be very pleasant if not a little wet. We treated ourselves to Rayman Rabbids TV party which turned out to be great fun and is now nearly worn out.

Din-dins

Our "Camping" trip.

So, we tested the tent. Packed the car, washed, fed and dressed the kids. printed off the route map Filled up with fuel. and set off for our over-night camping trip. "No advance booking, we have a HUGE site, we'll just open up another field..."
and guess what? They were full.
So was the new forest.

So we decide to make the best of things and had a lovely (?) pub lunch and a really nice (albeit short) walk in the new forest. Thought we'd share a few piccies with you.
